Girls’ soccer loses in second round

Girls’ soccer lost 5-0 in the second round of CIF to Los Alamitos after a first round win against San Marcos. The team came into the playoffs as Mission League champions for the seventh straight season.

“This was the most competitive Mission League in the last five years and we feel like to have won it was an outstanding accomplishment,” Head Coach Richard Simms said. “The achievement often gets overlooked because we’ve done it so many times, but this season we knew it would be extremely difficult.”

The team went into the playoffs looking to avenge their first round loss last year. They advanced to the second round but were stopped there by Los Alamitos.

“They were better than us and sometimes you just have to accept that,” Simms said. “I hope for us to be very competitive next season.”
