Girls’ volleyball crushes Buckley at Homecoming

Girls’ volleyball won against the Buckley School on Oct. 12, making it their last win before CIF playoffs.

Past Games

This game marked their last game of the season, before CIF playoffs begin on Oct. 24. Beforehand, the girls won against Notre Dame High School at an away game 3-2 on Oct. 10. Since the girls had won the game before this, outside-hitter Ava-Marie Lange ’23 said that the team was more excited than ever to play at Homecoming.

“The last game we played was one of our best games of the season and I think we took our high energy and communication skills from that game and applied it to the hoco game.” Lange said.

Improving Skills

With the results of this game, opposite Eva Lekovic ’21 said that she knows that the team has potential of being champions at the end of the season.

“I definitely think we’ve improved and we’re playing really well as a team,” Lekovic said. “It’s so exciting to see new progress every time we step onto the court.”

Ready for CIF

The team has started to prepare for the playoffs and Libero Josephine Amakye ’21 said that she believes the squad is more than ready to win.

“I think we are prepared for CIF and will be successful if we embrace the idea that most teams will be bigger and stronger but beatable if we work hard and earn everything.” Amakye said.
