The girls’ water polo team opened its season with an 18-5 win over Louisville on Dec. 4, at the Copses Family Pool.

The Wolverines got off to a hot start, by scoring six goals in the first quarter while shutting their opponents out. Then they took a 14-1 lead into halftime, allowing themselves to coast towards victory.

Senior, Taylor LaCour ’19 was pleased by her teams first win, but wants the team to remain focused for the upcoming season.

“I think the first game went great! An 18-5 win is always a huge confidence booster but we still need to keep our heads down and grind since it was only our first out of a bunch of games,” LaCour said.

The teams next game is December 10, at Huntington Beach.
