After coming in first place at the Costa Mesa Winter Tournament Dec. 29, the girls’ water polo team beat St. Lucy’s 22-15 in a non-league game Wednesday. The team won all four of its tournament games by at least six points.
The team’s closest game was against La Serna in the championship game of the tournament. The Wolverines won 13-7.
In the first round, the team faced Newport Harbor, winning 19-6. In its next two games, the Wolverines won 20-3 and 21-3 against Downey and Costa Mesa, respectively.
The team’s first league game of the season is today against Notre Dame.
