Softball outfielder Jessica Johnston ’14 ended what could be the final home game of her career with a bang Thursday, batting in the winning run in the softball team’s Senior Day matchup against Chaminade. Johnston’s double in the ninth inning drove in Jackie Carr ’14 to break an extra-inning stalemate and seal a 2-1 victory for the Wolverines. Behind a complete game from pitcher Hailey De La Vara ’16, the team was able to beat Chaminade for the first time this year after losing to the Eagles 4-2 April 8. With a 4-4 Mission League record, the Wolverines prepare for their next League game against Louisville at Pierce College May 13.
