    Lacrosse fails to make playoffs

The varsity boys’ lacrosse team’s playoff chances were ended last Thursday after a 9-6 loss to rival and Mission League leader Loyola.

“Being knocked out of playoff contention really hurts,” Jamie Gallagher ’08 said. “The seniors this year were a good group of guys and I wish we could have gone further.”

The team started off the year with a 1-4 record. They then won eight of the next nine games, giving them a 9-5 record with three games remaining.

“The guys have been doing a great job,” Head Coach Mark Haddad said. “We started off slow but were able to get into the swing of things after our fifth game.”

The team’s 26 seniors still have one more game remaining in their high school career. The team’s last game is Saturday against Malibu at home.
