Late comeback pushes softball to second round

By Luke Holthouse

Molly Steinberg ’14 delivered both of the softball team’s runs in its 2-1 victory over Charter Oaks Thursday in the first round of CIF Playoffs. Lauren Li ’12 pitched a complete game, surrendering only one run over seven innings.

Steinberg drove in both runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, her single scored Jackie Carr ’14 and Li. The Wolverines had trailed 1-0 since the first inning before Steinberg’s single.

This year’s team has already advanced further than last year’s squad, which was eliminated in the first round of playoffs.

The Wolverines’ opponent in the second round next Tuesday is to be announced.
