    Parade honors volleyball

The red sea of Fanatics shirts parted and the girls’ varsity volleyball team rolled up the Munger promenade in two red and black Mustang convertibles driven by the coaches. The parade last Monday honored the volleyball team’s state championship. Two days earlier, the team swept Sacred Heart Cathedral of San Francisco in the CIF Division III State Finals match in San Jose.

“We felt like we were on top of the world,” outside hitter KC Kanoff ’08 said.

President Thomas C. Hudnut announced each player’s name and congratulated them. Head coach Adam Black presented each player with a white Hawaiian lei to accompany their Southern California regional title and state championship medals. The school opted to have a 70-minute break during the day for the parade. The event was organized by the Prefect Council.

Free Jamba Juice smoothies, popcorn and cookies were served in the quad.
