Pep rally location changed to Taper Gym

The Fanatic Fest pep rally will now be mandatory and held in Taper Gym Oct. 4, rather than in the quad as previously decided by the prefects and Head Fanatics.

The prefects and Head Fanatics originally decided to make the pep rally, which is traditionally held in Taper every year, a non-mandatory event held in the quad in order to try something new and original, Head Prefect Ashley Sacks ’14 said.

However, they decided this week to make the change and hold the pep rally in Taper.

“Logistically, there were a few special things we wanted that required a bigger, indoor location,” Sacks said. “We ultimately decided it would be better to include the entire community as well as have the big, indoor location for the things we were planning.”

Friday will follow an Activities schedule to accommodate the assembly, which will be between second and third period. Seniors have been asked to wear black, juniors have been asked to wear white and sophomores have been asked to wear red for the last day of Fanatic Fest leading up to Homecoming on Saturday.

“We will be showing off and honoring the seniors and other grade members of all of the fall sports,” Sacks said. “The Head Fanatics will have a huge presence, and even faculty and staff will make special appearances. There should be a lot of energy to get us all pumped for Homecoming and it should be pretty exciting.”
