Prefect Council to open its doors

Student government, now called the Prefect Council, will meet three to four times a week and open one of those meetings to the student body in a move to increase transparency. Attendees will have permission to voice their opinions during the meetings.

“We figured that people might want to come, so we’re opening up more to the public,” Head Prefect Wesley Yip ’08 said.

The idea of opening the doors to students was discussed last year and  in July, Head Prefect Tasia Smith ’08 said.

“I don’t think it will change the way we operate,” Yip said. “I think it will expand the way we operate.”
The council meets during third period in Feldman-Horn 201.

The meeting will be always be open on a specific day, but it had not been decided at press time.
