Rugby Tower closes after sustaining plaster damage

By Jordan Freisleben

Rugby Tower has been closed for three weeks after heavy rains damaged the interior over winter break.

It was first closed off immediately after break. The tower was open for a few days in January but then subsequently closed off again because it was still not dry enough to work on, Plant Manager Felipe Anguiano said.

Anguiano said he predicts that the tower will be closed for another week as repairs are being finished.

Anguiano said that the damage due to rain only involved the plaster lining the building and that there was no structural damage.
