Science classes observe marine life at aquarium

Students in the Oceanography and Marine Biology class took a recommended field trip to Long Beach near the Aquarium of the Pacific and examined a variety of aquatic species April 22.

Students observed the different sea creatures they had caught, which they learned about in class, Bella Carino ’19 said.

“It was really cool to be able to connect the class work to real life experience,” Carino said.

Students also learned about Long Beach’s history and environment.

“My favorite thing I learned on the trip was about the oil islands in Long Beach and their relationships to famous astronauts,” Carino said. “I thought that was really amazing.”
