    Senior wins Cum Laude regional paper award

    Maya Spitzer ’08 was one of six people nationwide to win the Cum Laude Society Regional Paper Award.

    Her paper, entitled “The Role of American Industry in Nazi Germany,” was written for Drew Maddock’s AP U.S. History class last year.

    It was submitted by Maddock, along with other history papers, to President Tom Hudnut.
    Hudnut reviewed the choices and selected Spitzer’s paper as the one to submit the Cum Laude Society.

    Spitzer’s paper went through a judging process and she was chosen as a district paper winner.
    Hudnut, who serves as one of the heads of the Cum Laude Society presented the award, as well as $500, to Spitzer as a surprise at her dean meeting. By Susanna Wolk
