Service deadline extended for delinquent students

By Michael Sugerman

Roughly 80 students failed to fulfill the community service requirement by the May 7 deadline.

Head of School Harry Salamandra will send an email to the delinquent students offering a chance to resolve the incomplete hours, Chaplain Father J. Young said.

The deadline will be extended to May 21. Students must complete four hours of service in groups of four to matriculate without a penalty.

If the students do not finish the requirement by then, the stipulation will increase to eight hours of service by June 8.

Seniors who miss the second extension will receive neither diplomas nor transcripts.

Sophomores and juniors who fail to complete their hours by June 8 will have a heightened service requirement of at least 12 hours, which must be completed before registration in the fall.
