Softball snaps playoff drought, will face Arcadia Tuesday

By Chelsey Taylor-Vaughn

For the first time in four years, the softball team has advanced to CIF playoffs. The Wolverines will go up against Arcadia High School Tuesday at 3:15 at Los Angeles Valley College.

The girls went into the season winning their first five games but eventually “hit a bump in the road,” Head Coach Joe Aranda said, which contributed to their overall record being 11-9.

Focus and support kept the girls on track during this rough patch, Aranda said, which allowed them to qualify for the playoffs with a league record of 5-5.

The team won three straight games to close its season, capped by a 7-6 road victory over Alemany May 12.
