Softball’s playoff run ends in the second round

By Camille Shooshani

For the second straight year, Warren High School knocked the softball team out of playoffs today with a 9-2 victory at Birmingham High School. The loss in the second round of CIF playoffs ended the 2012 season for the softball program. The team advanced one round further than the 2011 team that was defeated 9-0 by Warren in the first round of playoffs.

The Wolverines end the season at 19-3-2 overall and 9-0-1 in league. As the only undefeated team in league, the Wolverines won the program’s first Mission League Championship since 2002.

The team graduates Lauren Li ’12 and Tiffany Liao ’12. Nine of the other eleven members of the squad will return next year.
