Squad gets one win in KSA Tournament

Varsity field hockey finished the KSA Tournament in Orlando, Florida with a win, a tie and two losses.

The tournament began Sept. 4 with an 8-1 win over Saint Hubert Catholic School. Mia Reilly ’18 had two assists and a goal. Alyse Tran ’18 and Caitlin Neapole ’16 each scored once. Claire Stevens ’16 and Claire Quinn ’16 both scored two goals.

The tournament continued with a tie and two losses. The girls’ main focus was learning how to function as a team heavy in young players.

“That’s what this tournament’s all about,” Defensive player Naomi Barlava ’17 said. “Focusing on our weaknesses and strengths as a team and seeing what we could improve on.”

The team will next face-off against Edison High School Sept. 8 at Ted Slavin Field.
