Tennis stays perfect in league with win over Chaminade

    By Luke Holthouse

Michael Genender ’15 won both of his singles sets for the boys’ tennis team en route to its 11-7 win over Chaminade today at Los Angeles Valley College. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 3-0 in league. The Wolverines beat Notre Dame last Wednesday and Crespi yesterday both by a score of 18-0 to open their Mission League season. The Wolverines continue league play on Thursday at UCLA when they take on Loyola.

In addition to their league matches, the Wolverines competed in the All-American Tournament last week. The Wolverines beat Brophy Jesuit Prep 7-1 and Bellarmine Prep 5-3 at the tournament before losing to University 7-1 in the semifinals of the tournament. The team would close out the tournament with a 5-3 win over Torrey Pines to claim third place.

The Wolverines stand at 11-3 overall, with two of their loses coming to University, the same team that beat them in the finals of CIF Playoffs last year. The Wolverines lost at University on March 6 by a score of 11-3. The only other loss on the season for the team came on March 13 to Palos Verdes by a score of 11-7.
