Varsity football falls to Chaminade, 45-24

The varsity football team’s late third quarter surge was not enough to defeat the Chaminade Eagles in the 45-24 loss Friday night at Slavin Field. Chaminade started the game by blocking Will Oliver’s ’11 punt for a touchdown. After 16 more Chaminade points, the Wolverines finally answered with a 44 yard touchdown pass from Max Helzter ’11 to receiver Noor Fateh ’11.
The Eagles’ offense mostly consisted of a strong running game.
The Wolverines came back from a 23-7 deficit to come within six points. After the third quarter rally, the Eagles pulled away scoring three unanswered touchdowns.
The Wolverines’ next game is on Oct. 23 against Cathedral.
