    Volleyball coach resigns

Volleyball coach Jesse Quiroz, who led the varsity girls’ volleyball game to three state championships, announced his resignation this morning in a meeting with President Thomas C. Hudnut.

Though he will no longer coach girls’ volleyball, Quiroz will continue to be a faculty member at the school.

“It’s time for me to make some changes in how I spend my time,” Quiroz said in an Athletic Department press release. “I’ve enjoyed a terrific run and want to thank the players and colleagues who made the journey the joy that it was.”

Quiroz also met with members of the varsity girls’ volleyball this morning but would not address the reasons why he resigned, Head of Athletics Audrius Barzdukas said.
