After reaching the second round of CIF playoffs, the boys’ water polo team’s season ended at the hands of Mater Dei, the number one ranked team in California.
The game against Mater Dei occurred Friday, Nov. 12. Although the Wolverines would ultimately lose to the Monarchs 16-11, they managed to keep the game close, and even managed to briefly lead early in the second half.
The loss comes after beating Dana Hills 15-12 in the first round of CIF playoffs Wednesday. The team matched the success they had last season, both times winning one game of CIF playoffs and then losing in the second round.
