In the second game of the El Segundo Winter Classic, Harvard-Westlake defeated Pacific Hills 79-30.

The first quarter was dominated by the Wolverines who only allowed the Bruins to score two points. In that first period, Ali Iken ’17 scored eight points and Cassius Stanley ’19 added six points on three dunks.

During the second quarter, the Wolverines eased up their defense, but still continued to score, ending the first half up 32-12, behind 12 first half points from Iken.

After halftime, the Wolverines came out strong, scoring a whopping 37 points in the third quarter, compared to the Bruins’ five. At the end of three, the Wolverines ballooned their lead to 69-17.

In the fourth quarter, a running clock was implemented as the Wolverines had a lead greater than 40 points entering the quarter. Despite the running clock, David Seo ’16 scored eight points in the quarter to cement the Wolverine victory.

It is the third straight win for Harvard-Westlake, and in those contests, the Wolverines have played every single player on the team. The team is 6-1 overall with their only loss thus far coming to Viewpoint in the finals of the Calabasas Tournament.

The Wolverines will look to continue their El Segundo Winter Classic success on Friday against Mira Costa at 6 p.m.
