Student Alumni Association runs thank-a-thon for alumni donors

The Harvard-Westlake Student Alumni Association (HWSAA) wrote letters to alumni donors as part of a thank-a-thon March 1. Organized by Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Katie Lim ’13, students hand-wrote over 100 postcards from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the quad, where they were spaced out one to a table to allow for social-distancing.

“It was so good to see students in-person and on campus, even if masked and social distanced,” Lim said.

HWSAA member Greg Damelin ’22 felt that the thank-a-thon was an appropriate way to show his gratitude to former graduates.

“For me, it was so great to thank those who went to Harvard-Westlake before me for their contributions,” Damelin said. “It’s so heartwarming to see the connection that Harvard-Westlake alumni continue to share with the community.”

Similar thank-a-thons held by the HWSAA have occurred in previous years, and according to Lim, HWSAA is likely to hold another thank-a-thon soon.

“Keep an eye out for one more before the school year ends and we welcome any and all students to join us!” Lim said.
