The girls tennis team won 11-7 in their season opener at home against Notre Dame High School. This was the squad’s first game back after COVID-19 shutdowns prompted statewide athletic closures. With COVID-19 restrictions, players were mandated to wear masks at times, and there were no fans allowed to attend the match.

Jade Zoller ’22 reflected on the squad’s first game back with a positive attitude.

“I was very happy just to be competing again with my teammates,” Zoller said. “I did not think we would be able to have a season so I am grateful for the opportunity to play, and I think we have a really solid team this year so I look forward to our next matches and continuing to improve as a team.”

The squad improved to 1-0 on the season, and they look to continue this success in their next match on March 3 at Weddington Golf & Tennis against division rivals Calabasas High School.
