    Track and field sends four to State

    Four track and field athletes entered CIF Masters Friday facing potential ends to their seasons, and four track and field athletes exited CIF Masters headed for State competition next week.

    Ben Gaylord ’13, Lizzy Thomas ’14, Alex Florent ’15, and Courtney Corrin ’16 qualified for State after advancing to CIF Masters last week. Gaylord took second in the pole-vault, Thomas finished seventh in the girls’ 3200 meter race, Florent placed seventh in the girls’ high jump, and Corrin won the girls’ long jump event.

    The Wolverines will travel to Buchanan High School in Clovis, CA for the final and largest stage of their postseason run, the California State meet. State preliminaries will take place on May 31, with qualifying athletes competing State Finals on June 1.
