Cross country kicks off season at Seaside Invitational

The boys’ and girls’ varsity cross country teams opened up their season on Sept. 6 with the Seaside Invitational at San Buenaventura County Park.

Jack Stovitz ’16 and Henry Roskin ’16 led the way for the boys’ team, with times of 16:04 and 16:05 respectively. Stovitz, Roskin and Jeremy Bradford ’14 picked up the slack for captains David Manahan ’14 and Ben Weissenbach ’15, who were held out of the race with injuries.

On the girls side, Lizzy Thomas ’14 stood at the front of the pack as she finished with a time of 17:16, which gave her the lowest time in the Senior Girls division. Thomas continued her first-place level running in the young season, notching her second win in as many events.

The Wolverines run next at the Mission League Cluster Meet on Sept. 11.
