Girls’ Tennis falls to Peninsula in playoffs

The Girls’ Tennis team’s Cinderella run in the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs came to an end yesterday, as they lost 10-8 to defending champion and No. 1 overall seed Peninsula High School.

The Wolverines upset No. 3 seed Mira Costa and No. 2 seed Corona Del Mar to reach the Southern Section championship game, and lost a closely contested match where they held a lead midway through the set.

Under new coach Kristie Reynolds-Gipe, the eight-time defending Mission League champions currently stand at 14-2 (8-0 in league).

The team will have a home game against La Jolla Country Day School on Nov. 17, 2015 at LA Valley College.
