Girls’ basketball defeats Etiwanda, advances to championship

The girls’ basketball team defeated Etiwanda in the CIF-SS Open Division Playoffs semi-final by a score of 60-49.

After only leading by one point at the half and being tied 41-41 at the end of the third quarter, the Wolverines outscored Etiwanda 19-8 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Jayla Ruffus-Milner ’18 had 19 points for the Wolverines, while Melanie Hirsch ’18 scored 13.

The girls will play in the championship game against the top seed, Long Beach Poly, on March 4 at 7 p.m.
