Lacrosse dominates first league match

The boys’ lacrosse team was able to continue its strong form and remain undefeated, dominating league rivals Crespi 15-2 in the league opener March 14.

The large point difference came from strong performances from consistent key players. One of these players was Paul Rodriguez ’18, who scored almost half of the Wolverines points, adding seven to their tally. Reid Hudgins ’18 also had a good game, scoring three. Zac Harleston ’17 scored twice, and Whit Spain ’17, Jared Goldman ’18 and Julian Roa ’20 all scored one.

Additionally, strong defensive performances allowed the team to concede both goals before half time, keeping the Celts scoreless in the final two quarters.

The squad is already off to a very strong start, as the victory puts its overall record at 5-0, and its league record at 1-0. The win in the league opener as well as an undefeated preseason will give the players confidence going into their next game against local rivals Notre Dame. The match is scheduled March 18 at home.
