Affinity groups host multicultural fair

Members of various affinity groups set up booths on the quad to spread awareness and share different types of food and music at the multicultural fair April 25.

The fair acted as a way for the affinity clubs to come together and share issues that are important to them, Gender and Sexuality Awareness club leader Imani Allen ’19 said.

“[The fair] really helps to educate other people about different cultures that they might not have, especially because we’re so lucky to have different types of affinity groups that are close to the school community,” Allen said. “I feel like this is really important and it makes us better as a community as a whole.”

Upper School Dean and leader of the Chinese Cultural Club Jamie Chan said that she appreciated the fair’s ability to bring awareness to the variety of affinity groups on campus and felt it allowed students to connect with others.

“My favorite part I think is all the different backgrounds and heritages and seeing all the kids have fun outside of the classroom and really connect with other students,” Chan said.
