Tina McGraw ’01 will return to her alma mater as both the head of Peer Support and a psychology teacher.
She will be transferring to a school setting for the first time after working in drug and alcohol treatment at residential and outpatient centers for the past 12 years. She worked as the Director of Operations, Administrative Coordinator and Residential Counselor Supervisor at Gratitude Recovery and the Canyon for mental health and substance abuse.
“I worked to set up support and put patients on the path to recovery,” McGraw said.
As a coordinator, she said she trained the counselors to help patients and made sure those organizations ran smoothly.
McGraw received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California Berkeley and her master’s degree from Pepperdine University.
McGraw said that she is looking forward to bring her skills to a school setting.
“I am incredibly excited, optimistic and totally inspired by faculty and staff I’ve had the opportunity to meet over the summer,” McGraw said, “From just getting to meet students last year, the intellectual engagement of the students has been inspiring.”
