Captain Katherine Konvitz ’20 prepares to return her opponent’ serve in the 13-5 match win against Marymount on Oct. 24.

Girls’ Tennis defeated Valencia High School 12-6 in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Playoffs today, after beating Brentwood High School 15-3 in the first round of CIF Playoffs on Wednesday.

Currently, the Wolverines are on a six game winning streak with their last loss occurring Oct. 7.  Kylie Azizzadeh ’21 reflected on the teams’ recent playoff success while also looking ahead at their next matchup.

“As the season has gone on, the team has really learned how to work together and created a great team chemistry,” Azizzadeh said. “This was our second win against Valencia after the first time in preseason, and I think our team has really grown since then and has seen what we needed to work on. The match against Woodbridge will be tough, but we are looking forward to a challenge.”

The team next will travel to play Woodbridge High School on Monday in the CIF Quarterfinals.
