Girls’ volleyball advances to state semifinals

Avenging a preseason loss, the girls’ volleyball team defeated Bishop Montgomery last Saturday in four games. After losing in five games on Sept. 25, the Wolverines were able to move on to the Southern California finals in State.

“This was definitely redemption for us,” Cathryn Quinn ’08 told the Daily News.

The Knights won the first game, only to see the Wolverines sweep the next three. Meg Norton ’10 led the team with 19 kills while Katherine Sebastian ’08 had 49 assists. Coach Adam Black was happy with the team’s performance.

“The satisfaction in winning is the development of our team,” he told the Daily News.

The team plays Laguna Beach tomorrow for the right to play in San Jose for the state final.
