The National Scholastic Press Association selected The Chronicle as a finalist for the National Newspaper Pacemaker competition, known as the Pullitzer Prize of high school journalism. Winners will be announced at the NSPA convention in St. Louis Nov. 16.The 2007-2008 volume ofÂ TheÂ Chronicle edited by Michael Kaplan ’08 and Ariane Lange ’08Â is one of 13Â newspapers selectedÂ in the 17-page or more category, and one of 46 newspapers overall. The Chonicle has won the National Pacemaker three times, most recently for the 2006-2007 volume. In addition, The Chronicle received the NSPAÂ All-American honor based on the critique of last year’s paper, a distinction that the middle school literary magazine, The Tenth Muse, received as well.
