Hung, Nesbit each reach millennium points mark

    By Alex Edel

Both Nicole Hung ’10 and Nicole Nesbit ’10 scored their 1000th high school point during this basketball season. The two girls are captains of the varsity girls’ basketball team that captured a CIF championship.

Hung hit the 1000-point mark in the Wolverines’ game against Chaminade on January 29. Before this game she had scored 999 points in 62 games with the Wolverines during her high school career.

“I knew in the game before that I was a couple points off, so it was kind of anticlimactic,” Hung said. “It was a nice personal milestone but winning CIF was much better. Getting a banner in Taper and a ring for CIF is a much bigger deal.”

Nesbit was able to score her one thousandth point during the first state game against Kingsburg High.

“Well going into the game my mom told me that I needed like six more points,” Nesbit said. “I wasn’t trying to get it, like scoring for me isn’t that big of a deal, but I guess when you say you have scored 1000 points in your high school career it is something that you want to tell your kids when you are older.”
