Wolverines Fall to Serra

By Austin Block

The Wolverines lost to two-time defending league champion Serra 34-6 on Friday night, dropping their record to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in league. Serra took a 21-0 lead into halftime, and the home team’s lone touchdown was scored by Jackson Liguori ’10, who caught a Max Heltzer ’11 pass and ran down the field to score near the end of the game. The game was fraught with penalties, and the Wolverines committed several mistakes, including a botched extra point and two failed punts. Serra is ranked 5th in the state and 25th in the nation according to MaxPreps.
