Calculus class visits Jet Propulsion Laboratory

By Alice Phillips

Chris Gragg’s Topics in Calculus and Statistics class visited the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena on Nov. 12. Approximately 30 students went on the trip.

The TCS class studies calculus topics that are relevant to work done by JPL scientists. The tour included a multimedia presentation about what scientists do at JPL.

Gragg said the trip accomplished the goals of the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program, which aims to promote student interests in those professional fields.
