The boys’ varsity basketball opened the first round of CIF with a 79-43 victory over Palos Verdes Wednesday night in Taper Gymnasium. The boys take on South Hill Friday in the second round of CIF playoffs.

“We just have to take it one game at a time on our way to a repeat,” guard Austin Kelly ’10 said. Kelly had seven points in Wednesday night’s win. Erik Swoope ’10 led the Wolverines in scoring with 30 points and Damiene Cain ’11 led the team with 13 rebounds.

The victory increased the squad’s winning streak to 21 games.
