For the second year in a row, three winter sports teams have reached the CIF finals. All three of this yearâs finalists, girlsâ soccer, girlsâ basketball, and boysâ soccer, will play their championship games on March 6. The girlsâ basketball team defeated Oak Park by 18 points on Feb. 27 to reach the final and girlsâ soccer routed Redlands East Valley 4-0 at home in its semifinal game. Boysâ soccer reached the CIF finals for the first time in program history by beating Edison on penalty kicks.
Girlsâ basketball plays Bishop Montgomery at 9:30 a.m. at the Walter Pyramid at California State University, Long Beach. Girlsâ soccer plays Beckman at 5 p.m. at Warren High School in Downey and boysâ soccer will play JSerra at 8 p.m. at the same place.
