Football loses to JSerra, 52-13

By Chelsey Taylor-Vaughn

Finishing their season undefeated in league, the varsity field hockey team will go up against the Marina Vikings, one of their biggest competitors, today at 3:45, to start the playoffs.

During the season the team has coped, with their University of Michigan bound goalie, Adrianna Crovo ’11, injured for all of their league games. Crovo has recently been cleared to play and participated in practice last week but Head Coach Erin Creznic is taking Crovo’s entrance to playing again slowly.

Recently, replacement goalie for Crovo, Sam Gasmer ’13, tore the labrum in her left hip, an injury similar to Crovo’s. Due to the injury, Gasmer will be unable to compete in playoffs and will have to undergo surgery.

Replacement Taylor Lee ’13, who had never played goalie before, was goalie for the final two league games only allowing competitors one goal, in their final league match against Bonita, resulting in a final score of 4-1.

“Taylor is prepared to play in goal if Adrianna is unable. If she feels okay, she will be our starting goalie again, which the team would be thrilled about. Especially Taylor,” said Creznic.
