Cain picks Colorado, joins talented recruiting class

By Judd Liebman

It was down to six schools for basketball standout Damiene Cain ’11, but he ultimately decided to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder next year.

After narrowing his college choices down to Minnesota, San Diego State, Boston College, Hawaii, Boulder, and Oregon State, Cain announced his decision through a live feed on CaliHighSports.com, a website that Jack Davis ’10 founded.

Cain was the first to have a live broadcast on the website, but Davis hopes for many more to come. Davis hosted upwards of 70 people at the Sportsmen’s Lodge on Ventura Boulevard, where Cain sat with his mother, step-mother, and father as he put on the Colorado hat signifying his commitment.

Megan Ward ’13 asked Cain questions in a press conference style afterward.

Cain is the latest addition to a strong Buffaloes recruiting class, which includes Taft guard Spencer Dinwiddie and Price point guard Askia Booker. Colorado will be a member of the new Pacific 12 conference next year in Cain’s freshman season.
