Boys’ basketball wins Oxnard Pacifica tournament

By Judd Liebman

Still without the help of Danilo Dragovic ’11 and Zena Edosomwan ’12, among others, the boys’ basketball team went undefeated in the Oxnard Pacifica tournament. The Wolverines went 4-0 and defeated Santa Maria Righetti 82-74 in the championship game Saturday.

In addition to the team accolades, star forward Damiene Cain ’11 was awarded MVP of the tournament, and Josh Hearlihy ’12 was named to the all tournament team.

In the title game, Cain had 21 points and 12 boards to go with guard Jordan Butler’s 20 points.

The 7-2 Wolverines will participate in the Desert Heat Classic next week before starting league play with a game against St. Francis on Jan. 5.
