Student leaders will hear baseball executive Joe Torre and leadership expert Dr. Warren Bennis speak Saturday afternoon at the 2011 Student Leadership Summit at the upper school.

Torre, the keynote speaker, is a former Major League Baseball player and manager who was recently asked by the commissioner of MLB to act as the executive vice president of baseball operations.

During his 17 years as a player, Torre was selected as an All-Star nine times.  In his 26 years as a manager, Torre was twice named American League Manager of the Year.

Bennis  has written 30  books on the subject of leadership. The Wall Street Journal named Bennis as one of the top 10 most sought after management speakers and The Financial Times called his book, “Leaders,” one of the top 50 best business books of all time. Leaders of various student groups,  including the Prefects,  Chronicle and VOX editors, Peer Support leaders and others, were invited to attend the event.
