Unbeaten lacrosse looks ahead to Loyola rematch, Palisades showdown

By David Kolin

Continuing its season undefeated at 9-0 and 5-0 in league, the lacrosse team will play Crespi on Saturday. The team then will face Loyola, Brentwood and Palisades next week.

In Wednesday’s 16-3 win against Chaminade, Cory Wizenberg ’11 scored the most number of points, combined number of goals and assists, in school history, with three goals and eight assists.

Of the teams in league, the Wolverines have traditionally had the toughest time beating Loyola. However, the first time the Wolverines faced Loyola this season, they won 17-4, a far wider margin than the team’s 6-5 and 10-9 losses last season.

Palisades will be an even tougher match than Loyola, Matthew Mantel ’12 said, but last year’s game ended up being a 3-2 victory for the Wolverines. The squad prevailed twice against Brentwood in 2010.
