Chaminade takes back first place from baseball team

By Judd Liebman

With a 5-2 loss to Chaminade Friday, the baseball team dropped back into second place in the Mission League.

The Wolverines briefly took over first place from Chaminade with a win over the Eagles Tuesday.

After starring for the Wolverines in Tuesday’s victory, pitchers Sam Horn ’11 and Brandon Deere ’12 had a nightmare of a second inning Friday, surrendering all five Chaminade runs. Entering the inning with a two-run lead,

the Wolverines gave up five runs on walks (including a hit batter) and consecutive singles.

The 6-2 Wolverines open a series with Loyola on May 3.
