Parents’ Association to host bone marrow drive

A bone marrow drive to help cancer patients nationwide will be hosted by the Parents’ Association during Homecoming on Oct. 1.

The committee hopes that students and parents will help as either donors or volunteers at the booth. The Parents’ Association will work with Be the Match, a national bone marrow registry. Chris Robinson ’14, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010, was a big inspiration for the drive.

“Chemotherapy wiped out all the cells in my body, good and bad,” Robinson said. “The [bone marrow] transplant gave me fresh cells and new life.”
