Field hockey drops game to Huntington Beach

By Robbie Loeb

Huntington Beach handed the varsity field hockey team their first loss of non-tournament play on Sept. 20, 3-1.

The match referee revoked a goal by the Wolverines in what midfielder Brigid Sofen ’12 referred to as a “questionable call.”

Forward Taylor Lee ’13 scored, and was assisted by forward Kristen Lee ’12. Taylor Lee averages one goal per game and Kristen Lee averages half an assist per game this season.

“It was a really big game,” Sofen said. “We’re going to bounce back and hopefully see them in the playoffs and beat them then.”

The team begins league play on Sept. 27 against Bonita.
