Boys’ water polo loses key player, improves to 6-3

By Michael Aronson

The boys’ water polo team received disappointing news Friday that senior role model Langdon Froomer ’12 will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum.

The boys bounced back after the news to take a 4-1 victory against Foothill.

The Wolverines trailed in the first quarter but came back with goals from Johnny Hooper ’15 and others to pull out with a win.

Rye Newman ’13 and Bradley Schine ’12 led the team defensively with six saves on the day to hold Foothill to only one goal.

The win improves the team’s record to 6-3 going into games against Servite and Crespi on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Wednesday’s game against the Celts, who have a record of 8-6-1, will be the team’s first of four league games on the season.
