After stumbling early, the boys’ basketball team pulled itself together to amass a three-game win streak, but fell last night at the hands of South Torrance, 74-73 in the second round of the Hilltop Classic in Palos Verdes.
Close losses have seemingly become habitual for the Wolverines, as all three of their losses were decided by four points or less.
Derick Newton ’14 continued his scoring tear, putting in a team-high 27 points. The 6-foot-7 power forward also pulled 13 rebounds.
The team now stands at 3-3.
The Wolverines will battle Abbotsford Collegiate of British Columbia tomorrow.
