The boys’ basketball team captured first place at the Palos Verdes Tournament tonight, after beating Lawndale, 65-63. Forward Derick Newton ’14 scored 21 points in the game, and was named the tournament MVP.

Newton averaged 19.8 ppg in the four games of the tournament.

The Wolverines look forward to playing in the Desert Heat Classic on Dec. 27.
